“ Tibet Uprising Day” is observed globally on March 10th every year. Tibet was a place of spiritual enlightenment until March 10th, 1959. Following the surreptitiously carried out annexation of Tibet by Chinese communist forces, hundreds of innocent Tibetans were killed. The most revered person in the world, His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama (Tenzin Gyatso), entered India and founded the Tibet Government in Exile in Dharamshala, Himachal Pradesh, where the fight to liberate Tibet has raged ever since. Yet after nearly 64 years, Tibet is still a part of China. The crimes in Tibet have drawn the attention of international organizations, the UN, human rights forums, and religious organizations, but their impact has been minimal. By settling Han Chinese and promoting marriages between Tibetan women and Han Chinese men, China altered the demographic makeup of Tibet.
The Tibetan diaspora’s protests appear to be increasingly routine events. Over time, a lot of pro-Tibet organizations have popped up, particularly on social media. There are awareness campaigns, but the question is, what has been accomplished thus far? Self-immolation is really a sign of giving in or capitulation rather than a bold gesture. Reincarnations of spiritual heads are decided by CCP rather than religious organizations, and monasteries are being destroyed. Informational battles have their limits, thus participants on the ground should be brave rather than give up.
It sometimes seems that these multinational organizations or forums exist merely for symbolic purposes and that their presence scarcely makes a difference. Most INGOs now serve as sources of income rather than as adversaries to be defeated. The super powers also govern the UN, WHO, and many other organizations. Similar horrors and physical abuse have been committed against the Uyghurs, another minority in China, for decades, but shockingly the Islamic world, notably the Middle East, has remained silent? It is believed that all sensibility to the anguish or pain of other beings has vanished. Instead of taking immediate action, the world is more interested in documenting the tragedies. Although it is acknowledged that over time, priorities have changed, human values have remained constant and must be upheld.
Due to its primary emphasis on cultural and religious transformation, the two fundamental tenets of any civilisation in the world, “ Sinicization” China’s has been a successful technique. Assimilation or transition into the new is easy if cultural and theological transformation is effective. Indeed Chinese always remain Chinese, whether he is in mainland China, Africa or America, he remains focussed. Via its Border Road Initiatives (BRI), China is expanding into Nepal and Myanmar, but it is also deeply involved in cultural change. They are able to accomplish their objectives thanks to the emergence of Chinese study centers, language centers, and business forums. Please keep in mind that development is expensive and not free, and we are eroding our foundation. At this point, caution is required.
